G Adventures sees record sales week

G Adventures has thanked travel agents for helping it post its record sales week last week.
The tour operator saw a 52% boost in sales year-on-year last week with 85% of the trips sold through the trade.
Burma, Borneo and southern India were amongst the most sold holidays, as well as polar expedition cruises and its new North America programme.
Michael Edwards, managing director at G Adventures said its 100% guaranteed departures policy and sustainable efforts had given travel agents the confidence to sell its trips and had helped towards the increase in sales.
“It also shows they also understand what we’re about. G Adventures gives travellers the opportunity to experience local cultures, and traveller feedback indicates travel aspirations are changing,” explained Edwards.
“Knowing their trip will help local communities and even help to change lives has a powerful effect on the purchasing decision,” he added
