Gatwick aims to boost ground connections

Gatwick Airport has unveiled its plans to boost ground connections to its airport up to 2030.
The airport aims to complete changes to its rail station in 2013 after spending GBP8 million and will also expand its regional coach network to improve connections in the local area.
It also plans to add another 34, 700 car parking spaces by 2030 and adopt new technology to ease the process.
“It is crucial that access continues to improve in order to support our sustainable growth from 34 to 45 million by 2030 and that we maintain our status as the most accessible airport serving London. Increasing accessibility from London and the wider catchment area, and improving existing infrastructure is key to this,” said Julia Gregory, head of surface transport at Gatwick.
