Gatwick Airport has opened a public consultation on its second runway options.
The airport is gathering the opinions of local residents by an online form, by post or in person at 16 exhibitions.
While the airport will is leaning towards the preferred option of one runway for take-off and another for landing, it will also present two other options for different sized runways that would be used for both take-off and landing.
Heathrow has already completed its consultation, with the airports to include the findings as part of their proposals to the Airports Commission.
“We are keen to encourage as many local people as possible to respond to our consultation as this feedback will have a key role in helping us to refine our runway proposals. The consultation is a chance for the local community to find out more about our proposals, ask questions and have their say on our plans for a second runway,” said Stewart Wingate, CEO of London Gatwick.
