GCAA looks to enhance air navigation services

The General Civil Aviation Authority’s Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre recently hosted a discussion forum for pilots and air traffic controllers in UAE. The forum was part of the strategic objectives to enhance air navigation services and promote collaboration with local entities and strategic partners.

The Forum was held for the second consecutive year and was attended by many pilots and air traffic control staff representing Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre, Dubai Air Navigation Services, Emirates Airline, Fly Dubai, Department of Civil Aviation, Sharjah; Air Arabia; Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and Etihad Airways.

GCAA assistant director general – Air Navigation Services, Ahmed Ibrahim Al Jallaf urged delegates to discuss challenges they face in their work, and to take part in suggesting practical solutions to the improvement of safety and air traffic efficiency. He further emphasised that improving operational cooperation between two of the key players in the aviation industry. This is generally one of GCAA’s top priorities towards boosting civil aviation operations’ safety and security in UAE.

Discussions revolved around cooperation enhancement, improvement of work environment for pilots and air traffic controllers and the importance of maintaining air traffic operations’ safety and security.
