GCC visitors have set a new record in choosing Germany as a travel destination, according to The German National Tourist Office.
During the first 11 months of 2015 more than two million overnight stays were registered in Germany by GCC guests.
According to the figures released by the German Federal Statistical Office, the number of overnight stays by visitors from this region reached 2,076,841 in the period from January to November 2015.
The statistics show an increase of 17.9% compared to the same period in the previous year.
The German National Tourist Office announced the theme for its promotional activities in 2016, is ‘Holidays in the heart of nature in Germany’.
Maria Amaral, director of the marketing & sales office of the German National Tourist Office (GNTO) in the Gulf region, said the office is “expanding its themes, which plays an important role in its promotional campaigns”.
“The new theme focuses on a new aspect of the German tourism sector, and capitalises on the wealth of natural beauty and exclusive experiences the country can offer,” she continued.
“We are confident that the offerings that we will focus on will attract yet more visitors from the gulf region, especially those who love nature and exploration.”
