To German government initiative “German in 1000 schools’ in India has met with an excellent response from Kendriya Vidyalaya network of schools nationwide.
To conclude the German year in India with the simultaneous launch of the ‘Go German’ initiative, an event was held at the India Gate in the presence of the German Ambassador H E Michael Steiner, Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna and Bollywood actress Gul Panag. The entire class of the winning Kendriya Vidyalaya School was awarded with a trip to Germany, co-sponsored by German National Tourist Office.
Romit Theophilus, Director of Sales and Marketing at the German National Tourist Office in India said, “We are delighted to be part of this event which gives an opportunity to young school children to learn about Destination Germany through the German language. We are really pleased that the language has been picked up by many of the students so quickly. We are sure that these students will be our young brand ambassadors after returning from the destination.”
To conclude the festive event in the evening, India Gate was illuminated in Indo-German colours.
