Luxury operator Silversea Cruises has introduced a new gold leaf risotto to the menu at its fine dining restaurant, Le Champagne. At an approximate cost of £9700 per pound, the edible gold leaf has become the world’s most expensive food ingredient.

Since the partnership as introduced in 1996, Le Champagne has become the only at-sea restaurant listed by Relaix & Châteaux
