A four-year funding deal has been granted by the Department of Transport (DfT) to maintain flights between Newquay and London Gatwick.
The government has announced it will provide £2.5 million to the air link with another £300,000 from Cornwall Council.
The route will operate three times a day during the week and twice daily at weekends, operated by Flybe.
UK Aviation Minister Robert Goodwill said: “Keeping our regions connected with London is a vital part of our long term economic plan. That is why we have worked so hard with Cornwall Council to protect the route to Newquay and make sure we do all we can to support the local area.”
The funding has come from the Regional Air Connectivity Fund which in June secured a two-year deal from flights between Stansted and Dundee.
