Jumeirah Dhevanafushi recently attained its Green Globe Certification (GGC) following a sustainability audit.
The resort has consistently developed green policies in line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. Measures taken include use of an in-house bottling plant which re-uses glass bottles instead of shipping in bottled water – saving approximately 72,000 plastic bottles per year.
General manager, David Stepetic, said: “The team is proud to have achieved the certification. With this certification, we now must work to achieve more for the environmental conservation and our local community efforts in order to preserve Meradhoo Island, Jumeirah Dhevanafushi.”
