GX Airlines, the new airline based in southern China’s Guangxi region, will launch its first international flights later this year.

Based in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, GX Airlines launched its first ever flights in early 2015. And from June this year the carrier plans to spread its wings to Cambodia and Vietnam.

New destinations are expected to include Hanoi, Danang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh, all of which will be served direct from Nanning’s Wuxu International Airport. The airline could also launch flights to Thailand in the near future.

Part-owned by Tianjin Airlines, GX Airlines currently operates a fleet of 10 Embraer E190 jets on 22 domestic routes to 30 Chinese cities. It plans to expand its fleet to 50 aircraft by end of 2020, including larger Airbus A320s.
