Gulf Air was recently recognised by Bureau Veritas for successfully upgrading its Information Security Management System to the latest ISO 27001:2013 standard.
The standard specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an Information Security Management System. The certification was awarded to Maher Salman Al Musallam, Gulf Air acting chief executive officer, by Zulfiqar Haider, chief executive of certification at Bureau Veritas Bahrain.
The airline has successfully managed its ISO 27001 certification over past four years, and it is the first to be accredited for its Information Technology practices under five different ISO certificates.
