Gulf Air recently unveiled its new in-flight entertainment (IFE) games offering.
This new on-board offerings makes the airline the first in the world to launch six traditional Middle Eastern games. The new games include regional favorites of Tawle, an Arabian-style backgammon game, Basha, a popular regional card game as well as a modern creation, Moosiqar, which offers players the chance to create melodies with one of the Middle East’s oldest instruments, the ‘Oud’, using familiar and intuitive controls.
The new set of games, distributed by Ensemble Media contains a sub-set designed by Quirkat. The games were created specifically with the Middle Eastern consumer in mind. Basha, Moosiqar, MENA Speed, Quirkat and two versions of Tawla, along with fourteen other new games will now feature across Gulf Air’s entire fleet.
Gulf Air’s acting chief commercial officer, Ahmed Janahi said: “It is an added bonus for Gulf Air and our customers that we will be the first airline in the world to provide these games while supporting a Middle Eastern game publisher at the same time.”
Ensemble Media has the exclusive rights for conversion of Quirkat games to IFE compatibility and their distribution.
