Hawaiian Airlines has decided to deploy an Airbus A330-200 aircraft on its new Auckland route.
The new flights, which will operate three times weekly from 14 March next year, will now be operated using the 294-seat, two-class A330, as opposed to the 264-seat Boeing 767. The airline said that strong demand for the new Auckland flights had led to the decision.
“It was always our intention to step up to larger aircraft once our services were established and the market was supporting us,” said Peter Ingram, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Hawaiian Airlines. “We are delighted that six months ahead of our first flight from Auckland ticket sales already are strong enough to justify upgrading to the Airbus A330, which offers 11% more seats than the Boeing 767 and a superior in-flight experience.”
Hawaiian’s Auckland flights will depart Honolulu at 1345 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, cross the international dateline and land in Auckland at 2155 the following day. The return leg will depart Auckland at 2355 every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving back in Honolulu at 0945 the same day.
