Hertz has become Cathay Pacific’s exclusive car rental provider, following the signing of a two-year agreement between the companies.

As part of the deal, a new Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty website has been created to provide Cathay’s passengers with access to rental vehicles across the globe. Cathay passengers will also receive a 5% discount on Hertz car rental globally, rising to 20% with a limited-time promotion for bookings made in January 2017.

Members of Asia Miles, Cathay Pacific’s frequent flyer programme, will also earn up to 2,000 extra miles for every qualifying car rental.

“Becoming the exclusive car rental service provider of Cathay Pacific is a significant milestone in our long-standing partnership with the airline,” said Eoin MacNeill, vice president of Hertz Asia Pacific. “The new, exclusive multi-brand website we have launched for Cathay Pacific’s passengers will enable them to find the car rental service that best suits their needs.”

The new agreement is the extension of a long-standing partnership between Hertz and Cathay’s Asia Miles programme, which offered point earning capabilities and rental discounts.
