The All Party Aviation Group (APPG) is said to be ‘pleasantly surprised’ by the high level of interest of its UK aviation inquiry.

Brian Donohoe MP, chairman of APPG said the group has received 60 written responses from a variety of companies. It is due to hold a second spoken evidence session on 20 June, after last week’s talks with ABTA’s Mark Tanzer and Gatwick Airport’s Kyran Hanks, amongst others.

“I have been pleasantly surprised by the positive reaction and high response rate to our Aviation Competitiveness Inquiry. It confirms just how important maintaining and developing the international competitiveness of the air transport industry is both to the sector and, crucially, the wider economy,” said Donohue. “Last week we heard from witnesses from airlines, airports and associations at the Inquiry’s first oral evidence session… in what proved to be an extremely informative evidence session in identifying the key priorities for the industry and the broader economy”.
