Hilton Worldwide has opened its first DoubleTree hotel in Queensland.

The new DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns was formerly a Holiday Inn, and occupies a waterfront location overlooking the Coral Sea.

One of the main features of the hotels is an open air rainforest garden and fish pond where guests can relax. The Atrium restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well a providing 24-hour room service, and there is also a lobby bar.

Other facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, 24-hour fitness and business centres, a tour desk and meeting rooms for up to 160 people. The hotel also provides free Wi-Fi to all guests.

“Australia has really embraced the DoubleTree by Hilton brand. We are pleased to provide another exemplary upscale, full-service hotel option in the Australian market with DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns,” said Ashley Spencer, Hilton’s vice president of operations for Australasia.

“Cairns has long been a desirable leisure location for Australian and international travellers and we know DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns will deliver exceptional service and easy access to Far North Queensland’s iconic attractions.”

The hotel becomes the fourth DoubleTree by Hilton in Australia and the 400th hotel in the brand’s global portfolio.
