Hong Kong residents now have a new holiday option, following the launch of direct flights linking the city with Guam.

HK Express commenced the route today (15 December 2016) and will now operate four weekly flights to the US Pacific island. Flights will run every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.

“Guam welcomes HK Express to its family of airport operators. The non-stop link to Hong Kong offers Guam residents another option to reach major Asia destinations,” said Charles H. Ada II, executive manager of Guam’s AB Won Pat International Airport.

“The daytime operation to Hong Kong also offers residents travel options that are not currently available in Guam. The partnership we’ve established with this route is very important to our growth; we are certain that we will see growth in this market.”

The expansion of HK Express in the Pacific will continue next month with the launch of the low-cost carrier’s flights to Saipan. HK Express will serve both routes using its fleet of all-economy class Airbus A320-series aircraft.

United Airlines already connects Hong Kong with Guam, and Hong Kong Airlines launched the first Hong Kong-Saipan route earlier this year.
