Hong Kong-based Swire Hotels has announced plans to launch in the US.
Opening in 2015, EAST Miami at Brickell CityCentre will form part of Swire Properties’ US$1 billion mixed-use development in Miami’s financial district. It will be the hotel group’s first property in the US and the third under its EAST brand, following existing properties in Hong Kong and Beijing.
EAST Miami will offer 263 rooms and 89 serviced apartments, along with two restaurants and a rooftop bar, a swimming pool, fitness centre, spa treatment rooms and meeting rooms. It will also feature paperless check-in and check-out processes.
“Interest on the part of hospitality companies in flagging the Brickell CityCentre hotel has been keen, due to their desire to secure a prime location,” said Stephen Owens, president of Swire Properties. “We were ultimately able to select from among 10 upscale hotel brands in choosing Swire Hotels’ EAST for our flag.”
The move marks the continued expansion of Swire’s portfolio. The company recently announced plans to launch The Temple House in Chengdu – the group’s fifth hotel in Asia.
