IHG has continued to expand its Holiday Inn brand in Indonesia with the launch of its second property in Bandung, the country’s third largest city.
The former Aston Primera Pasteur Bandung hotel has now been taken over by IHG following the signing of a management agreement with the hotel’s owner, PT Wisma Resortama Propertinda.
The rebranded Holiday Inn Bandung Pasteur offers 278 rooms, a restaurant, bar, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness centre and spa. There is also extensive meeting space including 12 function rooms and a 1,000-pax ballroom.
The hotel is located in the Pasteur area of Bandung, 10 minutes’ drive from the city’s Husein Sastranegara International Airport.
“In recent years Bandung has emerged as one of Indonesia’s most popular tourist destinations. With a number of government-led initiatives to boost the city’s tourism industry and the recent expansion of its airport, visitor arrival numbers have almost doubled year on year and this is encouraging news for the industry all around,” said Leanne Harwood, IHG’s vice president of operations for Southeast Asia & Korea.
“It’s a great time to be expanding our footprint in Bandung and we are delighted to be working with PT. Wisma Resortama Propertinda to welcome guests into Holiday Inn Bandung Pasteur.”
IHG now has 20 hotels and resorts open in Indonesia covering four of its brands: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. It also plans to launch a further 25 hotels in the country over the next five years.
