Host of events lined up for Abu Dhabi

The Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals Committee in Abu Dhabi held its second meeting, under the chairmanship of HE Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, advisor for Culture and Heritage in the Court of His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA, Abu Dhabi).
The meeting examined the workflow of upcoming heritage events, and assess what has been achieved recently. “The local community should receive adequate encouragement to practice the various forms of popular tradition,” he said.
From 4-7 September, the Committee will take part in organization of a new edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2013), organized by the Emirates Falconer’s Club. Up to 40 countries had participated in ADIHEX previous edition. The Committee is also preparing to open registration for the 6th edition of the Million’s Poet competition. And from 15-29 December, the Committee will organize the seventh edition of Al Dhafra Festival in Madinat Zayed in Al Gharbia (the Western Region).
The meeting of the Committee examined the action plan required to ensure the continuation and the development of heritage and cultural events in Abu Dhabi. The preparations for the organization and launch of other upcoming events were also discussed.
