Travel buyers who want to attend IBTM India event can now apply online to be hosted at this year’s event.
The second edition of IBTM India, which will take place from 3-5 September 2014 at the ITC Grand Chola Hotel in Chennai, is expected to attract up to 100 MICE buyers.
The event is limited to 100 Indian and international MICE suppliers, with the event designed to offer pre-arranged meetings with Indian and international buyers at a 1:1 ratio. The trade show will also include the IBTM India Forum, which will debate key industry trends.
Successful applicants will be offered a diary of approximately 36 pre-scheduled appointments to meet with their choice of MICE exhibitors.
Exhibitors already confirmed to attend the second IBTM India include the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Vienna Convention Bureau, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre, Fairmont Raffles Hotels & Resorts and the Hyderabad International Convention Centre.
“The launch edition, hosted in Mumbai, was a huge success,” said Shinu Pillai, IBTM India’s project manager. “Ninety-nine percent of the hosted buyers said that they were satisfied with the show, which is the result of our ongoing drive and determination to develop the meetings industry market in India and therefore we decided to move the show to Chennai.
“With an international and domestic airport, Chennai has excellent transport links and is well connected globally. The city is also known for its top rated hotels, which all were further reasons why Chennai is the ideal destination to host the second edition of IBTM India,” Pillai added.
IBTM is organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions, which also handles such events as the World Travel Market in London.
