Set amidst 18 hectares of lush tropical flora and fauna on the Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort has opened its doors as the first Pullman property in the Maldives.

The all-inclusive resort boasts 122 villas, including two exclusive Aqua Villas featuring bedrooms submerged beneath the turquoise waters. Meanwhile, The Royal Suite is a resort within a resort that provides complete privacy and indulgence, including a high degree of personalised service.

“A stunning addition to the premium segment”

“Maamutaa Resort is a stunning addition to the premium segment, and we look forward to welcoming global nomads to explore the spectacular marine life of Gaafu Alifu Atoll and its surrounding diving sites,” said Patrick Basset, chief operating officer of Accor, Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia and the Maldives.

Gili Lankanfushi

On 1 December 2019, the Maldives’ eco-resort Gili Lankanfushi will welcome back guests, following an inspired renovation of the resort. Honouring its laid-back philosophy and rustic chic aesthetic, the island will remain an intimate and sustainable paradise for the barefoot luxury traveller, with a new design concept and wellness programmes to further enrich the guest experience.

Located in the languid waters of the North Malé Atoll, just a 20-minute speedboat ride from Malé, the 45 refurbished villas will offer open-air living spaces, roof terraces and private decks with direct access to the lagoon below, and the addition of new private pools to the enhanced Residence and Villa suites for extra seclusion.

JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa

JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa

JW Marriott, part of Marriott International, has announced the opening of JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa on Vagaru island, Shaviyani atoll in the Maldives.

The new resort features 60 villas, which include private pools and wooden sunbathing decks. Duplex Overwater Pool Villas and single-story Overwater Pool Villas are set on stilts overlooking the waters of the Indian Ocean, with a choice of sunrise or sunset views. While Beach Pool Villas come with direct access to the pristine white sandy beaches of the private island, the split-level Duplex Beach Pool Villa is designed to cater to multigenerational families, featuring separate lounges, bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate larger groups.
