Hotel prices to rise overseas

Daily hotel rates are to face price increases in nearly two thirds of overseas destinations, according to Hotels.com’s latest Hotel Price Index (HPI).
Brits are expected to see rates in Monte Carlo soar 19% to £197 a night, while prices have also risen in Rio de Janeiro (£182), Muscat (£179) and New York (£171).
Meanwhile Asia and Eastern Europe remain the cheapest for Brits, with rates in Phnom Penh, Cambodia at £35 a night; Pattaya, Thailand at £47 and Hanoi, Vietnam at £48. Vilnius’ average room rates were at £55, with Riga, Bratislava and Krakow at £58, £61 and £62 respectively.
Prices in Europe remain mixed in their fluctuation, while rates in the Middle East and Japan have soared compared to last year as tourism returns to the destinations. Rates in Australia and the USA have also gone up, while Latin America rates have mainly dropped.
