Hurtigruten introduces new initiatives for 2017/18

HurtigrutenHurtigruten, the adventure travel company, has unveiled the 2017/18 winter brochure, packed with a wide range of itineraries and award winning excursions to help adventurers experience and explore coastal Norway and the Arctic.

With a fleet of 12 ships and flights from 18 airports across the UK and Ireland, the winter brochure opens up opportunities for travellers to; discover beautiful coastlines, experience local culture and food and witness the majesty of the Northern Lights during their trip. 

Anthony Daniels, Head of Sales, UK & Ireland, for Hurtigruten commented; “Our winter programme continues to grow from strength to strength with a 15% year-on-year passenger growth for the first quarter. With this increase in demand we can expand on our current offering, especially charter flights, to give more customers from across the UK the opportunity to experience a truly adventurous break and tick the Northern Lights off their bucket list.”

Travelling to Norway has never been easier and less stressful, with exclusive charter flight packages now available from 12 UK airports. With the addition of Cardiff and Leeds Bradford, guests can fly direct to Bergen or Tromsø to join the 12-day Classic Round Voyage or the 5 or 6-day Arctic Highlights itinerary. Direct flights are available from Glasgow, Dublin, Newcastle, Manchester, East Midlands, Birmingham, Bristol, Bournemouth, Gatwick, Cardiff, Leeds Bradford and Norwich.

The unique Northern Lights Promise continues for a third year and will cover off more regional airports including more departures from Manchester. The Northern Lights Promise offers guests who embark on the 12-day Classic Round Voyage or Astronomy Voyage a free 6- or 7-day voyage if Aurora Borealis fails to make an appearance during their journey.

With Arctic travel growing in popularity, Svalbard is the ultimate destination for those looking to follow in the footsteps of explorers. Hurtigruten offers travellers the chance to venture to the home of the polar bear and embrace the famous polar night. Home to adventure and gateway to the North Pole, there are over 60 excursions to choose from in Svalbard including; dog sledding under the Northern Lights or ice-caving at the Lars Glacier.
