Hyatt’s newest hotel brand, Hyatt Centric, will enter Australia following the signing of a deal for a new property in Tasmania.

Scheduled to open in 2019, Hyatt Centric Hobart will be a new-build hotel located close to the city’s waterfront.

Designed as an upscale “lifestyle” brand for “millennial-minded guests”, Hyatt Centric aims to reflect the culture of its destinations. This includes working with local partners such as F&B suppliers. The Hobart hotel will feature a restaurant, bar and meeting space.

Hyatt Centric Hobart will join an extensive collection of Hyatt hotels in Australia, including Park Hyatt Sydney, Park Hyatt Melbourne, Hyatt Canberra, Grand Hyatt Melbourne, Hyatt Regency Sydney, Hyatt Regency Perth, and Hyatt Place Melbourne.

It won’t be the first new-build Hyatt Centric hotel in the Asia Pacific region however; Hyatt is planning to launch the brand in the Ginza area of Tokyo in 2018.
