Hyatt has opened the Grand Hyatt Chengdu, its first hotel southwest China’s Sichuan province.
Located on the 10th to 39th floors of the Chicony Square building in the city’s Jinjiang district, the new Grand Hyatt Chengdu is 30 minutes’ drive from Shuangliu International Airport.
The hotel features 390 rooms and suites ranging from 40 to 190m² and all featuring floor-to-ceiling windows.
There are seven F&B outlets including an Asian-style outdoor barbecue restaurant, an international outlet with show kitchens, a Sichuan restaurant specialising in hot pot, a tea house, patisserie and cabaret-style lounge. A steakhouse will be added in the second quarter of 2016.
Leisure facilities include a 13th floor fitness centre, heated swimming pool and jacuzzi, and a spa with five treatment rooms, and for the MICE market hotel offers almost 3,000m² of function space on the 10th and 12th floors, including a 712m² ballroom. There are also nine separate residential-style meeting spaces, seven of which are fitted with separate living rooms and two with open kitchens.
“We are glad Hyatt is now part of Chengdu’s vibrant and aspiring legacy,” said Christopher Koehler, Hyatt’s vice president & managing director of operations for China. “The opening of Grand Hyatt Chengdu is a significant step forward in developing Hyatt brands in key gateway cities where our guests are traveling. We look forward to welcoming guests from all over the world to create memorable experiences.”
Grand Hyatt Chengdu becomes the 11th Grand Hyatt hotel in China, joining existing properties in Beijing, Dalian, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Lijiang, Macau, Shanghai, Shenyang and Shenzhen. And the brand’s expansion will continue later this year with the opening of the Grand Hyatt Sanya.
