Hyatt expands in Korea
Hyatt has opened a new hotel in South Korea.
The Park Hyatt Busan becomes the company’s 10th property in the country, but only the second for its Park Hyatt brand, following the existing Park Hyatt Seoul.
Located in the centre of Busan, adjacent to the world’s largest shopping mall, Shinsegae Centum City, the new 33-storey hotel features 269 rooms and suites with views of the sea and Gwangan Bridge though floor-to-ceiling windows.
F&B facilities include a 32nd floor restaurant with an open kitchen, plus a more casual eatery offering food, drinks and live music. There is also a lobby lounge and patisserie serving homemade pastries. Leisure facilities include a three-level spa and fitness centre with indoor swimming pool, and for the corporate market there is a series of ballrooms plus a residential-style meeting space.
“We are seeing a booming hotel scene in Busan thanks to increased international conventions and festivals, and we look forward to welcoming travellers to Hyatt’s luxury brand that offers sophistication, style and intimate experiences,” said Larry Tchou, Hyatt’s group president for Asia Pacific.
Park Hyatt Busan is one of 30 new hotels Hyatt plans to add to its global portfolio in 2013.
