Hyatt has opened its first ever Hyatt Place hotel in China.

The launch of the Hyatt Place Shenzhen Dongmen marks the start of a major Chinese expansion for the brand, which is designed to cater to modern travellers with practical amenities, such as free Wi-Fi and 24-hour F&B.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of the first Hyatt Place hotel in Shenzhen, and to introduce the Hyatt Place brand to China,” said Larry Tchou, Hyatt’s group president for Asia Pacific.

“The Hyatt Place brand was designed from the insight of our guests’ appreciation for approachable style, where design and quality is delivered in a very simple and affordable fashion, offering a seamless travel experience for guests, and we are delighted with this new choice for travellers visiting the dynamic city of Shenzhen.”

Located near Shenzhen’s Dongmen shopping district, Hyatt Place Shenzhen Dongmen offers 144 rooms, all of which feature 42-inch HDTVs, sofa-beds and free Wi-Fi.

Guests will also be offered complimentary hot breakfast, while a 24-7 market-style F&B outlet serves up made-to-order salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts. There is also a bar, 24-hour gym and more than 110m² of meeting space.

Hyatt now plans to plans launch at least 15 more Hyatt Place hotels in China in future, in destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming, Tianjin, Sanya and Wuxi.
