Hyatt has launched a new Hyatt Regency hotel in Tianjin, 28 years after the company’s first ever Chinese property opened in the city.
The original Hyatt Regency Tianjin opened its doors in 1986, becoming one of the first international hotels in mainland China. And now, the company has returned to the northeastern city with the launch of the Hyatt Regency Tianjin East.
“Tianjin welcomed Hyatt’s first ever hotel in China back in 1986, and ever since it has been a very important market for us,” said Larry Tchou, Hyatt’s group president for Asia Pacific.
“The opening of Hyatt Regency Tianjin East will further strengthen our brand footprint in China, and we look forward to fostering meaningful connections for business and leisure travellers as well as the surrounding community.”
Rising 25 stories in Tianjin’s Hedong district, Hyatt Regency Tianjin East forms part of a new commercial hub that connects downtown Tianjin with the Tianjin Binhai New Area. It is 20 minutes from Tianjin Binhai International Airport and 10 minutes from the historic city centre.
The 306-room hotel features three restaurants, a spa, gym, swimming pool and approximately 2,000m² of meeting and event space, including a 750m² ballroom.
Hyatt now operates 25 hotels in mainland China, including 13 Hyatt Regencies.
