Hyatt has unveiled plans for a new hotel in Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty.
Expected to open in 2017, the Hyatt Regency Almaty will be located on a 6,800m² site in the city centre, between Satpaev Avenue and the Esentai River.
The luxury hotel will feature 270 rooms, including 41 suites, plus three restaurants and bars, a spa and fitness centre. The hotel will also offer more than 1,500m² of meeting space, including a 600m² ballroom.
The new hotel will mark Hyatt’s return to Kazakhstan – the company previously operated the 285-room Hyatt Regency Almaty Rahat Palace.
“We are delighted to re-establish a Hyatt brand presence in Kazakhstan,” said Peter Norman, Hyatt’s senior vice president of acquisitions & development for Europe, Africa & Middle East. “The development of this hotel represents a significant step for Hyatt as the company continues to expand its brand footprint in Central Asia.”
Hyatt Regency Almaty will join the existing portfolio of more than 145 Hyatt Regency hotels currently open around the world.
