Hyatt has unveiled plans to launch its Hyatt Place hotel brand in Phuket.
The company has entered into a management agreement for the new Hyatt Place Phuket Patong, which is expected to debut in 2016. The opening will mark the brand’s entry into Thailand and Southeast Asia.
“Thailand continues to be an important market for Hyatt, both from a leisure and business travel perspective,” said Ratnesh Verma, Hyatt’s senior vice president of real estate & development for Asia Pacific. “Phuket in particular is one of Southeast Asia’s premier leisure destinations, and Hyatt’s expanding resort portfolio is key to creating preference among our guests.”
Set on an elevated plot of land overlooking Patong Bay, the new Hyatt Place will feature 161 rooms with balconies, a swimming pool, fitness centre, restaurant and bar, business centre and more than 225m² of function space.
Designed as a modern, convenient hotel brand, Hyatt Place offers such amenities as free Wi-Fi and 24-hour F&B.
Hyatt Place Phuket Patong will join three Hyatt-branded hotels already in operation in Thailand: Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Hyatt Regency Hua Hin and Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort.
And the company also has three more properties under development in the country: Park Hyatt Bangkok, Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit and Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit.
