Hyatt has entered into an agreement to launch its Hyatt Regency brand in Bangkok.
Expected to open in 2017, the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit will be located on Sukhumvit Soi 13, close to Asok BTS skytrain station in the centre of the city.
The new 288-room hotel will form part of a mixed-use development that also includes high-end retail and residential elements. Facilities will include two restaurants, a bar, swimming pool, fitness centre, spa with six treatment rooms, and more than 1,000m² of meeting space, including a ballroom.
“Bangkok is a key gateway city in Asia and we are delighted at the opportunity to have a Hyatt Regency in this market. The hotel perfectly complements the currently operating Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok and the under-construction Park Hyatt Bangkok and will offer Hyatt guests a choice of high quality hotels,” said Ratnesh Verma, Hyatt’s senior vice president, real estate & development for Asia Pacific. “The addition of the hotel reflects Hyatt’s commitment to the region and in expanding its distribution in markets that its guests are increasingly travelling to.”
Hyatt currently operates its Grand Hyatt brand in the centre of Bangkok, and will launch its Park Hyatt label in the Thai capital in 2014.
