ID relaxed for Fred. Olsen’s UK cruises

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced it will allow passengers to use other forms of identification other than a passport to go on its ‘Around UK’ cruise.
The cruise line has amended the policy to broaden the appeal of the cruise, which only calls at ports in the UK.
Passengers that do not have a passport will still be able to go on the cruise if they show an EU national ID card, driving licence, council-issued bus pass/travel card, firearms licence or a VALIDATE UK card.
“One of our most popular range of cruise holidays is our ‘Around UK’ voyages, where guests can experience the many delights of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, in a simple, stress-free way,” said the cruise line’s sales and marketing director Nathan Philpot. “We are now making it even easier for that proportion of the UK population who do not have a passport or photo card driving licence to enjoy our in-depth UK cruise experience, and get the chance to visit UK towns and cities that our smaller-sized ships can access.”
Ports of call on the UK cruises include Liverpool, Newcastle, Kirkwall and Falmouth.
