InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the launch of its Hotel Indigo brand in Lijiang, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed town in southwest China’s Yunnan province.
Located within the old area of Lijiang, Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town offers 70 rooms, a relaxation zone called ‘Me Space’, the Chama Restaurant and the Chat tea lounge, plus meeting space and wellness facilities
“Hotel Indigo brings something totally different to the heart of Lijiang Ancient Town. We offer sophisticated travellers a culturally rich retreat that combines personalized service with traditional Naxi hospitality and ambiance, plus unique neighbourhood experiences,” said the hotel’s GM, Constance Cheong.
Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town is designed as an old Post House along the ancient tea trail, and features a classical design with local Naxi and Tibetan influences. The 70 rooms feature a range of different designs, including horse-themed deluxe rooms and mountain-themed superior rooms.
It becomes the Hotel Indigo brand’s fourth opening in China, following properties in Shanghai, Xiamen and Tianjin.
