IHG has launched its InterContinental brand in Osaka.
The new luxury hotel has opened as part of a new mixed-use development in the centre of Japan’s second biggest city, which also includes office buildings, residences, commercial outlets, a convention centre, academic and entertainment facilities.
The InterContinental Osaka’s lobby actually sits on the 20th floor, with views across the city. The hotel has a total of 215 rooms, averaging more than 50m², while the InterContinental Residences located in the same building offers 57 one-, two- and three-bedroom serviced suites.
For the MICE market, the hotel offers four function spaces and a wedding chapel, while other hotel facilities include a health and fitness centre with a spa and indoor pool. F&B outlets include a French restaurant, an all-day dining outlet, a bar and lobby lounge.
“At InterContinental Osaka, we aim to provide contemporary luxury to our guests. We have something to appeal to every guest, whether travelling for business or leisure, located in what is the city’s most exciting new development. Our team offers world-class service to both international and local guests alike and we hope to provide them with new and unexpected experiences when they stay, dine or hold an event with us,” said the InterCon Osaka’s GM, Hafidh Al Busaidy.
The hotel become’s the seventh InterContinental hotel in Japan. With its partner ANA, IHG is the largest international hotel operator in Japan with nearly 30 properties across four brands.
