Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has the largest pipeline of new hotels in the Asia Pacific region (not including China), a new report has revealed.
Lodging Econometrics’ latest Asia Pacific Hotel Construction Pipeline report found that IHG currently has 117 new hotels rising in Asia, comprising 26,451 rooms.
This includes 44 Holiday Inn hotels with 10,813 rooms and 41 Holiday Inn Express properties comprising 8,662 rooms. Combined, these two brands represent 73% of all IHG pipeline in Asia.
Following IHG, Marriott has the second largest Asia Pacific pipeline with 108 new hotels comprising 24,872 rooms, while Starwood is third with 88 projects and 18,939 rooms.
Last month, Lodging Econometrics revealed that Hilton Worldwide has the largest pipeline of new hotels in China, with 203 projects comprising 58,697 rooms.
