InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) has expanded its portfolio in Thailand with the launch of the Crowne Plaza Phuket Panwa Beach Resort.

The opening marks the first Crowne Plaza resort in the Southeast Asia region and the brand’s second opening this year after the launch of the Crowne Plaza Semarang in January. The resort is also the brand’s second property in Thailand after the recently launched Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park.

Signed in February 2012, this new resort is located in Makham Bay, close to Phuket Town, and offers views of the twin islands of Tapao Yai and Tapao Noi. The resort’s 224 rooms include separate baths, private balconies, and Wi-Fi connectivity, while resort facilities include two beachfront pools serviced by specialty bars and restaurants, and a semi-private third beachfront pool for guests staying in the resort’s loft pool suites.

Other amenities include the brand’s signature Thann Spa, a 24-hour gym and kids’ club, while MICE facilities include a ballroom, two boardrooms and an outdoor terrace.
