InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of its first Crowne Plaza hotel in Pune.
The 173-room Crowne Plaza Pune City Centre is located in the Koregaon Park district, in close proximity to Pune’s airport. Supporting the local MICE market, the hotel comes equipped with 24-hour business services, meeting facilities and 1,096m² of banqueting space.
Other facilities offered include fitness centre, swimming pool, rooftop restaurant and lounge.
The hotel will now undergo a refurbishment to its guest rooms, public areas, restaurants and meeting space. Commencing this month, the renovation is expected to be complete early 2017 but the hotel will remain fully operational during this time.
“Over the last few years, Pune has established itself as one of the key commercial hubs of the country and so is a great market for the hospitality industry,” said Shantha de Silva, IHG’s head of Southwest Asia.
“Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts has been recognised globally as a reputable meetings hotel brand for the last 30 years and is the perfect brand to meet the needs of corporate travellers and the growing MICE business in this city.”
IHG has 27 hotels open across four brands in India, with a further 41 properties in the development pipeline.
