Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed its third Holiday Inn hotel in the Italian capital, the Holiday Inn Rome – Pisana.
The property, which is due to open towards the end of 2013, will be converted from an existing IHG branded hotel and operate under a franchise agreement with Roma Ovest, part of JSH Group.
The 229-room hotel has two restaurants and an additional lounge bar. There are also seven meeting rooms for MICE facilities.
IHG’s director of development for Italy, Domenico Magnati, said: “The addition of this hotel to our portfolio of Holiday Inn properties in Rome is in line with our growth strategy for Europe. Our increased presence in this region will not only offer travellers a greater choice of hotels and improved flexibility, but will ensure we continue to anticipate the needs of our guests and respond to market demand.”
Owner of Roma Ovest said: “We’re delighted to be providing new accommodation in Rome, offering business and leisure travellers improved access to one of the most visited cities in Italy and a comfortable night’s stay.”
IHG operates 5,026 rooms in Italy across 32 hotels.
