InterContinental Group (IHG) has signed a deal with French management company Société Foncière Lyonnaise (SFL) to open its first Hotel Indigo in Paris.

The property, which will be called ‘Hotel Indigo Paris – Opera’, will be located close to the Opera Garnier and the InterContinental Paris LeGrand.

IHG has also recently announced Indigo openings in Rome and Brighton.

The 57-room property, which is currently operating under a different brand, will open as an Indigo hotel in 2014.

“This is our first managed Hotel Indigo in Europe and we are delighted to be working with SFL on this property. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Hotel Indigo brand in a flagship location. Hotel Indigo is a great fit for European cities like Paris due to the brand’s ability to fit in with the aesthetics of an area and highlight the richness of a culture and local flavours,” said Brice Marguet, IHG’s director of development, France and North Africa.
