Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced plans to launch its Hotel Indigo brand in Moscow. The boutique brand Hotel Indigo Moscow – Tverskaya will be housed within a converted building on Tverskaya Street and will feature approximately 100 rooms.

Slated to open by the end of 2020, the property is the second Hotel Indigo in Russia, joining the existing Hotel Indigo St Petersburg Tchaikovskogo.

The brand was launched in 2004, and currently has over 100 properties across 19 countries, with plans to double its portfolio over the next three to five years. The upcoming locations include Lima, Doha and London’s Clerkenwell district.

Aron Libinson, vice president of operations and development in Russia, CIS and Georgia at IHG said: “We’re excited to sign the second Hotel Indigo here in Russia. I am confident guests will love this new upscale boutique offering in the heart of Moscow. There is a lot of potential for brands in this market and we have the perfect portfolio to meet the demand for mainstream and upscale hotels.”

IHG currently has 14 properties in Moscow, under brands including Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
