Indian family spends INR21,999 on domestic holiday – Study

The average domestic holiday expenditure incurred by an Indian family of three this year was INR21,999. According to the monthly travel report derived from Goibibo.com, 33% travellers opted a package of four nights, five days, while the traveller took an average of 16 days taken by a buyer to finalise the travel plan after showing interest.
In terms of destination, Jammu and Kashmir region leads the pack at INR38,577 spend followed by Kerala and Andaman. Holidaying in Uttarkhand region was the most economical at INR9,995 with preferred destinations like Mussoorie, Nainital, Lansdowne and Corbett. With volume of holidays, Goa continues to be the favourite destination with an average spend of INR22,658. This is followed by Uttarkhand, Kerala and J&K.
