Indian visitors to California jumped 8% to 199,000 last year as compared to 2010. Indians are among the top 10 international visitors visiting the Golden state in 2011. Overall, 6.2 million overseas travellers visited California in 2011, a 22.3% share of all international travellers to the US. California’s top overseas visitor markets in 2011 were the UK (710,000), Japan (565,000) and Australia (562,000).
“The new national goal is to welcome 100 million visitors per year by the year 2021. Visa reforms are a key step, but we also need to interact with visitors and attract them to California through social media,” Caroline Betata, President & CEO for Visit California said in an official statement.
