IndiGo has registered the least number of flight cancellations (0.3%) of its total flights from July 2011 to June 2012.
The airline was suppose to operate 102,571 flights, of which only 303 were registered cancelled. The national carrier Air India saw maximum number of flight cancellations (3.4%) due to the 58-day pilot strike. With 106,334 flights to operate, the airline cancelled 3,604 flights where 462 flights were alone cancelled in April.
“Most of these cancellations were due to technical, operational or commercial reasons apart from bad weather at the departing and destination stations,” a senior official from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) told the Hindustan Times.
