Road shows will be held in cities of Chennai, Pune and Mumbai from 1-5 July 2013. The Indonesian delegation will be led by Iyung Masruroh, deputy director of promotion for Asia region at Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for Indonesia along with 17 suppliers.

The board aims to promote Indonesia as a premier travel destination under the brand “Wonderful Indonesia” and to provide a platform to connect the Indonesian tourism industry and the Indian travel trade network.

“We chose Pune, Chennai and Mumbai for this sales mission because we know that these cities are important business centers with a high rate of economic growth,” said an official press release. The country plans to focus on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) in 2013.

India has been the 11th biggest market for Indonesia. In 2012, Indian visitor arrivals to Indonesia reached a total of 1, 77,194 visitors with an increase of 7.92% over 2011. The board targets to receive 2,00,000 Indian visitors this year.
