John Travolta touches down in Dubai
Qantas Ambassador-at-Large John Travolta was in Dubai recently for an inaugural visit. Qantas hosted Travolta to a week-long tour of Dubai which included taking in some of the emirate’s most iconic destinations. The famed actor became Qantas’ Ambassador-at-Large in June 2002, when it joined him to launch the Spirit of Friendship tour to foster goodwill and encourage people to travel after September 11. John Travolta continues to fly his Boeing 707 and represents the Qantas brand both in Australian and overseas.
Polo Victory for Oman Air
Oman Air’s debut polo season was met with success, when its team claimed victory in the Oman Air Frankfurt Gold Cup. The Oman Air polo team – Beate Pfister, Steffi von Pock, Michael Fass and Raphael Oliveira – beat rivals Frankfurter Sparkasse 1822 Privat Banking 6-5.5 to take the winner’s title. Six teams, including the Oman Air team, took part in the three-day tournament at the Frankfurt-Nied polo ground in Germany.
Michael Jackson’s Dream Team in Dubai
The Dubai Music Week will be hosting Michael Jackson’s dream team in Dubai for an exclusive evening on 24 September 2013. Quincy Jones, chairman and co-founder of Global Gumbo Group (G3) said: “We have an exciting week-long programme that will set the stage for furthering the potential of the music industry in the region.” The Emirates Quincy Jones seminar will have something to thrill everyone.
Emirates-US Open celebrity close-up
Emirates celebrated its partnership of the US Open with a celebrity line-up. The ‘Official Airline’ of this year’s US Open saw Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams win the respective men’s and women’s titles. The airline also hosted several celebrities in a Luxury Suite at the event.
