IHG has unveiled plans to bring its luxury InterContinental hotel brand to the Indonesian city of Bandung.
Set to open later this year, the 204-room and 19-villa InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar will be located in the upscale Dago neighbourhood of the city, overlooking the 18-hole Mountain View Golf Course. It will form part of a mixed-use development, approximately 3km from Bandung city centre.
Facilities at the hotel will include two restaurants, a spa and one of the largest ballrooms in Bandung.
“Indonesia is a key market for IHG, and home to one of our largest development pipelines in Southeast Asia,” said Clarence Tan, chief operating officer of IHG Southeast Asia & Resorts.
“The new Indonesian property is a strategic part of our expansion plans for the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand, which will more than double in the country during the same period.”
IHG currently operates 13 hotels in Indonesia, including two InterCons. It also plans to add two more InterCon properties, InterContinental Bali Canggu Resort and InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah Hotel & Residences, both of which are scheduled to open in 2016.
InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar will become IHG second hotel in Bandung, following the existing Holiday Inn Bandung.
