International Women’s Day: five locations for the solo female traveller

Following Travel Daily’s recent International Women’s Day Special discussing the specific needs of women compared to their male counterparts, and the ongoing trend for solo female travel. RCI India, part of Wyndham Worldwide, have selected five destinations ideal for women of the 21st Century.

According to a travel trends survey by RCI in association with Kantar-IMRB, travelers are seeking important factors such as safety & security while planning a vacation. This is even more prevalent in the case of women wanderers. Other aspects include affordability, choice of destinations that give an immersive experience of culture, cuisine and heritage. And overall an unforgettable vacation that will create a lifetime of memories.”

Sikkim – The Queen of the East

Situated 130 km away from Darjeeling, Sikkim offers a mixed cultural experience with its Buddhist heritage and a perfect amalgamation of influences from its north eastern Indian heritage as well.
