The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) will run two special trains from Pune next month. Each train will cover tourist destinations in south and north of India.
The Dakshin Darshan train will leave Pune on 7 August covering destinations like Goa, Tirupati, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari and
Trivandrum. The north India train will depart Pune on 29 August touching upon destinations like Vadodara, Agra, Haridwar, Amritsar and Vaishnodevi.
The IRCTC initiatives in the tourism sector have received significant response from tourists over the last three years, the official said. Pune and surrounding areas hold good potential for tourism activities.
