Alila Hotels will soon take over the management of the completed Jabal Akhdar Hotel from Omran. The official handover, which is expected to take place in December, will allow Alila Hotels & Resorts Group to welcome guests in Q2 of 2014.
“The Jabal Akhdar region is perfect for our first foray into the Middle East. Its combination of interesting natural eco-systems, history and culture,” noted Mark Edleson, president of Alila Hotels & Resorts.
Once opened, the Alila Jabal Akhdar will take its place as one of Alila’s Lifestyle Collection. The property will offer 84 suites and two Jabal Villas, named Jouz and Rumman after the Pomegranate and Walnut respectively.
“The handover of this landmark project is yet another milestone for growth of tourism in Oman,” added Wael al Lawati, CEO of Omran.
In line with Alila’s philosophies, the exterior and interior of the resort has been designed using raw materials sourced directly from local suppliers wherever possible, highlighting both Alila’s and Omran’s commitment to building sustainable projects that have a direct economic benefit for the local community.
